‘Physics’ Series
This series of bold geometric paintings is an ode to colour and light in their purest forms. Featuring overlapping discs of varying transparency, layered to create the dazzling illusion of filtered light, space and depth, these repeated, rippling shapes become more than the sum of their parts.
The ‘Physics’ title alludes to the atom-like building blocks of the circles, their apparent simplicity and yet infinite potential permutations. The overlapping motif, also evokes and celebrates a certain genre of 1970s science textbook cover design.
